The problem Austin is currently having is the homeless population is growing, pricing is going up and gentrification is rampant. We were talking to some people in Austin when we visited. But you can also drive into Austin to go out like a lot of people do. Now in areas of Round Rock, Cedar Park and Pflugerville there are more black people but it is definitely the suburbs and families. Because it is definitely a place where you see both BM and BW in IR couples. That is why I was asking if you were open to date out. So black men here usually are cool with dating non-black women too. And black people that live here kind of have to have a vibe of being cool with everyone if that makes sense. So there are limited choices and since it now so expensive (for Texas) to live here.

But black people are only 6% of the population.

I wouldn't say that black men aren't feeling black women. Of course there are pockets that you might not want to live in but Austin isn't one of those cities where things are super dangerous either.

It depends on how much you want to spend.

For the most part you can't go wrong living in most areas in Austin.
